Sunrise Weissbier
As invigorating as the morning rays of the summer sun, this unfiltered, Bavarian-style ale is true to its origins with all German malts, hops and yeast. Unfiltered, its tangy yeast and imported German malt pair up to add a crisp, citric snap. 5.4% ABV

V Twelve
Victory's vintage-dated, Belgian-style specialty ale is a sensation in subtlety. Heady with an aromatic fruity start and taste, this amber ale features hints of pear and apricot in its well-nuanced flavor. The initial impression of fruitiness concludes in a refreshing dryness that begs you to sip again. Over 12.0% ABV

Victory Dark Lager
Exhibiting a deep, chestnut color and malty aroma, Victory Dark Lager has won over many a timid consumer who had previously avoided 'dark' beers. Mildly malty, with a little lingering sweetness to note, Dark Lager is surprisingly refreshing. 5.0% ABV Available in bottles in PA only.

Saison V Series Specialty Ale
S began on Wednesday July 13 when Victory Brewing unveiled the latest in their V Series of vintage dated specialty ales.  This one is a firm and hoppy take on the Belgian farmhouse ale style. Both rustic and refreshing, this well-conditioned ale offers a hearty kick of alcohol to boot at 7.5% ABV.   Loads of European whole flower hops give it an earthy, herbal nose over light malt and full, fruity, Belgian yeast character.

Beer Fox Laugh of the Week:

During the frontier days, travelers often found themselves seeking shelter from fearsome weather. Sometimes, there was no shelter to be found, and they would press forward, hoping to find a respite before they succumbed to the elements.

On a stormy winter's nights, a man staggered into an inn. The innkeeper helped the man to a table, and got him some hot food and a tasty brew. "I'm terribly sorry that I can't seat you next to the fire, sir, but court is in session and the lawyers are occupying that space."

As the man ate, drank, and warmed up, he thanked the innkeeper for his hospitality. One of the lawyers commented to the man, "Why stranger, by the looks of you, you traveled through hell and back in order to get here."

"That's right," said the man.

"It is?" asked the lawyer. "Tell us then, how did you find things in hell?"

"Just like here," the man replied, "all lawyers closest to the fire."

Beer News:

Germany was once a nation of dedicated beer drinkers, topping the global charts in beer consumption.  Berliners alone consumed an average of 209 liters annually in the early 1900's, but this consumption has dramatically dropped behind the Czechs and Irish one hundred years later.

In the days when the local brewery thrived, drinking beer was viewed as a patriotic duty - one that cemented tradition and camaraderie between the townfolk.

As the days of the local brewery waned, so did the loyalty associated with beer drinking.

Duvel - Brouwerij Duvel Moortgat NV, Belgium
Style - Belgian Strong Pale Ale

This Devil of a beer is light golden in color with a thick,  deliciously white, rocky head with enormous staying power and seductive lacing that coats the glass to the final moment.

The peppery, yeasty, malty nose fills with spices as it warms.  A complex fruit flavor-profile is splashed with shadows of sweet malt, spice in the middle and a clean bitter finish.
