The Cherokee of Oklahoma have an inspiring model of business development, diversification, and success. As more Tribes turn to the private sector for economic development on Tribal lands, the suppression of the past will fail. All of us can be part of this transformation by supporting Tribal businesses across the US. The technology which provides for reservation commerce also makes our participation possible. It can be as easy as a little on-line shopping.

In the Deep South, we’ve been getting regular rain. After so many years of drought, the almost daily thunderstorms are a welcomed return to normal. But I still have my “Rain Rock” out for friends in Nevada. Numerous wildfires have been sparked by lightning and some are quite large. The folks over in Texas are still in need as well. That tropical system fizzled out once it made landfall, and the rains were less than hoped for. Please continue to support and pray for the firefighters, and for the much needed rains to restore areas affected by this year’s severe drought. Until next time,
