Teach Us to Number Our Days

I went to a friend’s funeral yesterday. The service testified to a life well-lived. She had redeemed the short time given her, and used it to glorify God and share His love and truth with others. What else matters? We too must make the most of each day, and live it as if it were the only day we have, which it very well could be.

From my heart to yours

Oh, so quickly autumn approaches. Nights are chilly, days are getting noticeably shorter. Summer is brief up here in north Idaho. We have to squeeze out every minute of hot sun and cool river, sit in the slanting light on a warm porch, nurse those tomatoes along and watch for frost. Sweetness and regret mingle as we head into another long winter.
