How to Keep Troubles in Perspective

Our town is hurting. Mill and business closures have put many out of a job. Is my husband’s job next? I wonder, with a faint frisson of panic. Then I read about Zimbabwe, where the unemployment rate is 95%. The only bright spot there is the church. How do they keep their troubles in perspective?

From my heart to yours

In America we are remembering our countrymen and those from other nations who died in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, ten years ago. Even while mourning the dead of that day, I realize we have been blessed with great stability and prosperity, so much more than many places in the world. I wonder how long it will continue, for our nation as a whole no longer honors God nor keeps His commandments. Forgive us, Father, and have mercy on us.
