Hello everyone, it’s time for a quick cuppa and a chat. It’s been a busy week here. For me Spring has begun and that’s the time to do some SPRING CLEANING. My big project is my sewing room. It’s time for a cleanout, tidy up and throw out. Every year, about this time I go through every draw, every cupboard, every desk top and bookcase and ask myself “do I really need this, do I really use it, could someone else make better use of it?”. As a result I have three large bags of various items such as old patterns, old magazines and books and stuff, stuff, stuff. It’s funny, I’ve thought to myself many times “ What was I thinking?”. Anyway, these three bags will come with me to my next cottage group and they’ll be free to anyone who wants them. This includes some UFO’s that I’ve come across.

Sometime ago I wrote a few articles about UFO’s (here’s the links to those articles: this is the first article http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art23590.asp ; and this is the link to the second and final article about UFO’s. http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art23943.asp. After reading these articles you know how I feel about UFO’s, so that’s why I have a few orphans to give away.

This brings me to my article that was posted last week – the State Quilt Block for New Jersey!! I guess some of you have asked yourselves why – when I’m up to Tennessee is New Jersey suddenly popping up. Well, one of my readers enlightened me to the fact that New Jersey was missing from the completed list. I checked and so it was. Not sure why – Kim Noblin was the author then. Anyway, I quickly created the instructions and diagrams and posted them last week. Quilt Blocks of the States - New Jersey - Here is the 12" finished block for the state of New Jersey.

I’m currently working in Texas and my Christmas Celebrations Table Topper pattern. It’s just lovely, even if I say so myself and I’m busy getting the instructions right for you. So stay tuned, I’m hoping it will be up before the end of October.

The forum has been busy with some responses to the “What flower are you” quiz that I gave you last week. Here’s the link to the forum page if you missed it: http://forums.bellaonline.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=454666#Post454666
And here’s the link to the quiz if you’d like to have a go: http://www.thisgardenisillegal.com/flower-quiz

Now to my gift to all the BellaOnline Quilters Quarters subscribers: It’s a lovely little Christmas Stitchery and it’s titled “Welcome Friends and Flakes”. Just gorgeous.

Well, I guess that’s all from me this week. I’m intending to do battle with my fabric stash over the next week. I’ve decided I’m never going to live long enough to use up all of the fabric in there. Problem is – which stays – which goes? The Linus Quilt Project group that I help out with is going to do pretty well out of my cleanup!

Cheerio for now, have fun quilting!!
