Greetings from the Land of Oz!

Our weather pattern broke, and it's considerably cooler here with a slight touch of rain. I am so happy about that. Teachers go back to school next week, and I have no desire to teach kids in a classroom that is over 100 degrees. Been there-done that-don't care to do it again. Yes, we have air conditioning, but it is a bit finicky.

As I read through the recipe, it struck me that I wrote this article in my biology teacher mode! This week we have a side salad made of broccoli that was very popular with my family when I made it. This dish lasted two days at our house this week! Our youngest son wouldn't touch it. He insists that broccoli is bitter. In 2006, science found the reason why it tastes that way to him.
