"Happiness is a choice."

I found that advice some years ago, when restaurants had paper placemats with jokes, local history, or pithy sayings on them so patrons had something to read while waiting for service. (Now placemats seem unnecessary since everyone has electronic devices!)

As a family, we have adopted this saying as our motto. Granted, there are days when we say it through gritted teeth, perhaps, but we do try daily to achieve it. Turns out, science *and* religion agree.
