From the local storm center here in Michigan, here's the latest article from the Baha'i site at BellaOnline.com:
Creativity
Bahá'ís believe that creativity is a gift from God available to anyone.

Today's article is on channeling creativity and since last night we have had the chance to apply it! We had a huge storm that produced 70mph winds and even some tornadic activity (which fortunately went south of us a couple miles). Trees are down, power is out, which in our rural hideaway means that not only do we not have lights, but also not water and no computers! Gasp!
What will we do with ourselves? It is too dark in the house to read, we have no business out helping saw up downed trees in the rain, and we are faced with at least another day without power. Moving to a hotel was probably not possible because the towns around are full up with folks in town for the Art Fairs, if they weren't rained out.
Ahah! we said. We'll run away to the library! It's a six mile ride into town, but enlivened by views of flooded fields, dripping woods, and the occasional tree carnage. Mature hardwoods lopped off 20' up, 30' conifers tipped over. But no obvious damages to buildings or cars.
So, here we are: air conditioned, working toilets, working wifi, great views of the weather and river outside...and A&W Drive-in restaurant a block down the street. What more could we need? Especially since the heat index is 100F (40C) with 100% humidity, 100% chance of more rain and flash floods.
Now, if they'd just let me bring my pillow and popcorn maker....
