Here's the latest article from the Baha'i site at BellaOnline.com. A friend asked for a book that would tell her everything she needed to know about the Bahá'í Faith all in one place, and she thought the Book of Laws sounded like such a labor saving device.
While it is a concise listing of parts of His revelation that the Prophet/Founder wished to re-emphasize, it contains no exposition on individual laws. It is not a 'one stop fits all' document, and is better understood with study of previous texts by Bahá'u'lláh, plus explanatory documents by 'Abdu'l-Bahá and Shoghi Effendi. I use it to find precise wording--instead of what I think I remember--when researching a question of applying a law to my daily life.
The Kitáb-i-Aqdas - A Summary of Bahá'í Laws
The Kitáb-i-Aqdas is Bahá'u'lláh's own summary of His revelation, including laws and theology. It is a detailed list of issues and topics revealed and expounded upon in previous texts.
