This past couple weeks have been way too exciting at our house. I think my extended family has almost single-handedly been supporting the medical profession! And though several of them are close by, so that I could supply hugs and chicken soup maybe, others were much farther afield. And I wasn't feeling up to much physical help anyway.
In other words, I had to rely upon prayer first, instead of later, LOL. And I immediately called upon a sisterhood of friends and relatives with whom I maintain contact through email, even though some I have not seen in months or years. They are powerful pray-ers!
Meanwhile, September reading has included Larry Dossey's book, "Reinventing Medicine: Beyond Mind-Body to a New Era of Healing," which is a scholarly and secular look at the importance and impact of prayer and intention upon the physical world.
Here's a quick introduction to the idea that medicine is now taking prayer seriously in the latest article from the Baha'i site at BellaOnline.com.
What's the Use of Praying?
Science and religion are coming together to answer this question, believe it or not!

I hope to hear from you sometime soon, either in the forum or in response to this email message. I thrive on your feedback!
It's okay to pass this message along to family and friends, and check out some of Dossey's articles and books here - http://www.dosseydossey.com/larry/default.html (By the way, Dr. Dossey is not a Bahá'í, nor am I pushing all of his theories or books. But the studies on prayer and directed attention are interesting, just sayin'.)
