Forgiveness is necessary in order to live with other people -- or even myself! -- but it just isn't very easy when we think of it as being about the other person, the perpetrator of our injury, whatever it may be. What forgiving is actually about is releasing the whole incident from our daily to do list, about removing energy and focus from the perceived hurt. In my case, what I'm fussing about becomes my world, so I have to find ways to pay attention to more positive things.

That search of the literature, on the Web and within the Bahá'í Writings is summarized in the latest article from the Baha'i site at BellaOnline.com.

Forgiveness
Forgiveness is key to strengthening any relationship, whether between people or nations. Learning how to forgive oneself is critical to forging happiness and a successful life.
