I've been frantically making Medieval boots for a 2-week long reenactment my family is going to in a few days. There's leather everywhere! But I'm getting much better at fitting and finishing the edges thanks to a lesson from our local cobbler/shoe-repair guy. It just goes to show you, sometimes the pros are thrilled to talk shop with someone interested in learning.
Thought for the day: What resources do you have locally who could help you improve an aspect of your costuming? A cobbler? A tailor? A theatrical special effects artist? Why not pay them a visit and ask a few questions?

Well, gotta get back to my boots. The glue should be about dry now, which means it's time to nail on the soles.
Cheers, Julie
