"You become attracted to the power, then you become addicted to the power, then you're devoured by the power." from "Kill the Messenger"

"Kill the Messenger" was released in theatres at the end of 2014 and is now available on DVD and video on demand. Jeremy Renner plays investigative journalist Gary Webb in this film based on a true story. Webb uncovered evidence that the CIA was doing business with drug dealers in Central America. Webb is at first celebrated, then vilified and ultimately destroyed for his whistle-blowing efforts.

The script was written by Peter Landesman, who worked as an investigative journalist prior to become a screenwriter. The film uses clips from news reports of the period to aid in telling Webb's story. Jeremy Renner carries the film, as he is in virtually every scene. "Kill the Messenger" is a political thriller in the tradition of "All The President's Men".
