Leonard Peltier – A Question of Justice
Leonard Peltier has spent most of his life in prison, serving life sentences for the deaths of two US Federal agents. What lead up to the tragic event that June morning in 1975?
My daughter did her first criminal justice term paper on the Trial of Leonard Peltier. I was as proud of the topic chosen as the A she made on it. Despite this being such a grim story, I was joyful in her using a college assignment to learn more about American Indian history.
Some people may think this is a “cut and dry” issue. But they don’t realize that as the US was preparing to leave Vietnam, there was a “war” ongoing in our own backyard. The tactics used by the FBI back then are pertinent today.

Labor Day will be here soon, and there are Pow Wows all across the country listed in the forum. Check it out for one near you. If I've missed one, please share the information with us. Taking the kids to a Pow Wow can be an exciting weekend before the drudgery of school sets in. Until next time,
