September 28 2011 Native American Newsletter

Here in the Southern US, it's Pow Wow Time. Not quite so hot, it's time to Dance! Down here, we can handle the heat and humidity, but the particular complications we face in tracing our American Indian Heritage can be tricky. This week's article shares a little of the history and some of the reasons.

Difficulties in Tracing American Indian Heritage
If you are researching American Indian Ancestry in your family, you may be wondering why this is so hard. For those in the Southern US, one of the obstacles can be our family.

We're heading out this weekend for a much anticipated vacation, filled with family, friends and way too many craft projects to complete. But I'll do my best and get as many photos as I can to share. We've missed several Pow Wows in the region and I'm a bit jealous of all the beautiful photos my friends are sharing on Facebook.

While I'm away, finishing up dance shawls and using them, the forum won't be neglected! A dear friend will be helping out. So please stop by to say hello, and maybe help her out with a question or two.

Even though I'm at Pow Wow, don't hesitate or wait to send a comment on my Bio Page or post on the forum. Your feedback it so important to me and most graciously appreciated. Have a suggestion for an article? I look forward to each one. They provide something new for us to learn about and share.

Have friends and family who are interested in American Indians? Why not share this newsletter so they can join us on the journey? Learning something each and every day keeps our minds sharp and our hearts young. Until next time,

Walk in Balance and Beauty
