About the BellaOnline Adolescence Editor

Thanks for visiting the Bellaonline Adolescence site I am Elaine Anderson.

I live in Shropshire, UK. Having raised two sons as a lone parent, I have navigated the trials and tribulations of the teenage years. Now in their adult years, (I have three young grandsons). I have come through the hurricane years with a sense of humour intact. I have a close relationship with my family. They, along my work keep me very busy; nevertheless, I enjoy various home interests. These include crotchet, knitting, cultivating a herb garden along with many other interests.

My work as a relationship counsellor has taken me through various routes. I spent ten years working as a marriage guidance counsellor, counselling individuals and couples. One of my specialisms was working with couples in Domestic Violence relationships. Through various stages of additional training, I began to work with young children, alongside working with families as a family counsellor. Many of my clients were living in families where deep trauma affected the whole family.

I was a Relateen counsellor in Wellington, Shropshire for a number of years, working with children from the age of seven to eighteen in primary and High schools. My specialism working with adolescence has given me fantastic opportunities to understand the complexities that youngsters face today.

My counselling work now involves working with adults and young people who have experienced childhood sexual abuse or have experienced rape recently or historic.

I also counsel children, teenagers and adults who are experiencing traumas resulting from family break ups, illness or other life impacting experiences.

Alongside my counselling profession, I trained as a hypnotherapist and spiritual healer. I wanted to provide as an holistic approach to healing as possible. I hope I can offer experience and a few words of wisdom.

I have a down to earth approach, parenting teenagers is not always easy, but is one of the most rewarding experiences we as parents will ever undertake.

I am also an tutor in adult education.

I enjoy writing and presenting workshops and training sessions on subjects related to parenting or personal growth. The workshops continually evolve; I am currently developing a series of workshops, which explore how fairy stories impact on our lives.
I also have a strong interest in using Tarot, crystals and Archetypical Cards as a tool for personal growth.

I have always had a longing to writer, so I hope that my writing for Bellaonline with kick-start a new chapter in my professional career.

Much of my professional work involves deep serious issues, I think that is why
I cultivate so many other interests, to create balance and light in my life!
