About the BellaOnline Anime Editor

I’m a stay-at-home mother of three children, and I watch television with my kids to keep up with current animation. Through them, I have been able to see some of the anime offerings of the past decade (Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, etc.) I had my first exposure to anime as a child, back when my family lived in Japan while my father served in the Navy; I vividly remember really liking Candy Candy. After we moved back to the United States, some of my favorite anime growing up included Star Blazers, Voltron, and Robotech. I have collected, or am in the midst of collecting, DVD sets for these anime properties, as well as for other properties I have developed an interest in since becoming the editor for BellaOnline´s Anime site.

Between 2002 and 2004, I served as the Lead News Editor for Digital Media FX, a website devoted to animation and special effects. Through this experience, I was able to learn more about anime.

For any DVD, CD, video, or book reviews I have written for the Anime site, I either bought the item myself, had a family member give me the item as a gift for a special occasion, I checked it out through the King County Library System, or I borrowed it from Blockbuster. For the overview articles that I write, I watched the series on my own DVDs, on television, or through Internet streams. If, at any time, I receive promotional copies of items to review, this fact will be noted in my review. Starting with any reviews posted in December 2009, I will be disclosing how I obtained the item to review it.

I look forward to sharing what I know, and I also look forward to building an Anime community here at BellaOnline. Please feel free to contact me with questions and comments anytime!
