Dr. A. Maria Hester (Dr. Maria) is an internal medicine specialist with over ten years of experience in direct patient care and patient advocacy/education. Dr. Hester received her M.D. degree from the University of Tennessee in Memphis in 1992. She has a special interest in preventive medicine and empowering people to optimize their health and their health care. Author of two consumer health books, Dr. Maria has an extensive background in educating the public, including serving as president of a local American Heart Association branch, conducting numerous community health workshops, and acting as a spokesperson for a breast cancer awareness campaign.
