Barbara is a freelance journalist from Edinburgh, Scotland, who enjoys stargazing from home, discussing astronomy with local enthusiasts and attending astronomy lectures and workshops. Her personal library is literally overflowing with astrophysics books, essays, photos and periodicals.

Barbara is especially interested in debunking popular myths surrounding astronomy, particularly those perpetuated in science fiction. She is also interested in somewhat overlooked areas, such as the lives of famous astronauts after their missions, or the daily goings on at the International Space Station.

Other writing pursuits include her position as a genetics and evolution columnist and skeptical journalist. She has also had a number of freelance pieces published in websites, newsletters and magazines. Barbara´s more creative side likes to indulge in science fiction (with accurate astronomy, of course).
