Now, a little about me:
I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints all of my life. I served a full-time church mission to the Spain Seville Mission, now the Spain Malaga Mission. I have served in many different leadership positions throughout my life and have taught many different classes within the church, from nursery age (18 months to 3 years), to adult classes in Relief Society and the Gospel Essential Class in the Sunday School. I have written several special programs for the different wards I have been a part of during my life.
I have been very active in the Young Women’s program as well as the Primary and have served in various positions within those organizations. I have been working in the Primary for the past seven years. I have served as a Counselor and have done several sharing time presentations as well as worked with the teachers to help them make the connections that they need to with the children. I am currently serving as the Activity Days Leader.
When I am not here at Teaching LDS, you will most likely find me online at Success Gardens, where I a write about gardening, along with my husband, who has a degree in horticulture. I also blog several times a week at Garden of Learning, about working and schooling at home. I include family things there, as well as recipes and product reviews. I have a few special projects that I will be launching this year, so I will try to remember to update things here as they come to fruition.
I have been married to a wonderful man for the past 19 years and we have one son who is rapidly approaching 16 years of age. He is our miracle baby and we love him to pieces. He is also very bright and has a deep and gentle, caring spirit. As he has Asperger’s Syndrome and is also color blind, we began homeschooling him in 5th grade in order to meet his special needs and help him to progress in a way that our previous local school district was not able. We are currently tackling high school and having a great time. He loves to attend seminary and serving as the President of the Teacher´s Quorum.
I am looking forward to providing ideas and inspiration to you as you strive to teach the gospel in the church and in your families. If you have any special requests for content, please feel free to e-mail me and I will see what I can do to meet your needs and desires. Together, we will find ways to invite and utilize the spirit in all of our teaching experiences.
