Now, a little about me:
I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints all of my life. I served a full-time church mission to the Spain Seville Mission, now the Spain Malaga Mission. I have served in many different leadership positions throughout my life and have taught many different classes within the church, from nursery age (18 months to 3 years), to adult classes in Relief Society and the Gospel Essential Class in the Sunday School. I have written several special programs for the different wards I have been a part of during my life.
I have been very active in the Young Women’s program as well as the Primary and have served in various positions within those organizations. I have been working in the Primary for the past two years as a Counselor and have done several sharing time presentations as well as worked with the teachers to help them make the connections that they need to with the children. I recently moved with my family to a new location and I find myself again in Primary. I am once again teaching the children the gospel through music as the chorister, and I love it.
When I am not here at Teaching LDS, you will most likely find me online at Her Gardening Blog, where I am the editor for that site and write about gardening. I also write for A Return Home, about working and schooling at home. I have also recently been asked to cover the content for a short period at Her Homeschool Blog and Her Home Blog.
I have been married to a wonderful man for the past 15 years and we have one son who is rapidly approaching 12 years of age. He is our miracle baby and we love him to pieces. He is also very bright and has a deep and gentle, caring spirit. As he has Asperger’s Syndrome and is also color blind, last year we began homeschooling him in order to meet his special needs and help him to progress in a way that our previous local school district was not able.
I am looking forward to providing ideas and inspiration to you as you strive to teach the gospel in the church and in your families. If you have any special requests for content, please feel free to e-mail me and I will see what I can do to meet your needs and desires. Together, we will find ways to invite and utilize the spirit in all of our teaching experiences.
