Trigun 9 - The Murder Machine
Guest Author - The Futile Existence

Now Vash is in a bus going back from the train ordeal. They see a man in the middle of the desert with a giant cross. He claims to have walked 100 miles when his bike broke down. He couldn't leave the cross behind, he's a priest - a "Soldier of Love".

Vash gives his name as a 30 part Italian name, but the girls call him Vash the Stampede. The priest says he's "Wolf Wood". The priest says he's earning money for the poor and gives away food to some little children. Next thing they know, a group of bizarre machines start chasing the bus - "Hunks of Lost Technology".

The priest grabs his bag and out pops - a black cat! They realize one of the kids was left behind and the priest and Vash leap out of the bus to go save her. Vash tries to explain how the machines work but Wolf goes leaping into action and is soon fleeing in terror. Vash slides down the slope and shoots them all quite easily.

Spotting the girl, they try to get to her and are sucked down in quicksand. They end up in an alien spaceship. They get into the main plant area and Wolf covers Vash with Vash's gun while Vash races through the area. Both are caught and weaponless but suddenly both are freed with mysterious blasts. Vash thinks, "You can stop now, there's noone left to protect."

When Wolf questions him, Vash says "It must have been God! It's the only explanation!" Then the 2 girls show up to help out. Soon they reach Mai City and Wolfwood wanders off with his cross.
