Expressing Yourself With Summer Scents

Expressing Yourself With Summer Scents
What could be more refreshing than a light breeze and the warmth of the sun? A perfume blend that's carried by the wind across the air. The scents of summer will bring a smile to your face.

A Winning Fragrance Combination

To be able to find joyfulness, to play and assert your feminine self is quite an accomplishment. To do this with essential oils and perfume blends is magic. Let's take a look a some perfume blends that will allow you to express your beauty in the warmer months.

These blends contain essential oils not fragrance oils.

Express Yourself - Perfume Blend

9 drops of Mandarin
9 drops of Grapefruit
7 drops of Gardenia

Place oils into 15 or 30 mil container. Once you've tested the scent and like what you smell, add jojoba, sweet almond or grapeseed oil to the container. You can also use a 1/3 ounce roll on container for your oil blend.

Lift Me Up - Body Spray Mist

10 drops mandarin
10 drops orange
5 drops lemon
5 drops grapefruit
2 cups distilled water

You can ground this blend with 1-2 drops of vanilla. Yes you're blending oil into water, however, shake it gently and your blend will be luscious.

These are all citrus scents, which can be photosensitive and make your skin sensitive as well. If you're gong to use this blend as a morning scent, mist your body right out of the shower and allow it to settle into your skin. You do not want to go direct into sun after using citrus scents of blends.

Sensual - Solid Perfume

20 drops sweet orange
15 drops of ylang-ylang
10 drops sandalwood ( can substitute cedarwood or patchouli)

Blend your essential oils together first into a brown bottle. 15 mil/half ounce, will work. This way you will know whether or not you like the blend and can still tweak it if not. Now fill with a carrier oil (jojoba, grapeseed or sweet almond)

Using the double boiler method, melt your beeswax, about a table spoon full, then add a few drops of your scent blend to the beeswax. Stir and pour into your container. Your container can be an old pocket watch case, small containers used for lip gloss. While the PETG containers are good, stainless steel is better.

That's it for this week. As always ...
