Beatrix Potter creates an imaginative world of little animals and their adventures. She has a great rapport with children and seems to know what would interest and amuse young readers. She loved nature and while on holidays in Scotland spent time with her brother Bertram exploring farms, woods and fields. They collected plants, animals, and insects and even brought some of the dead ones home in order to draw and paint them. (Her parents did not know about this).
Her stories are about independent little creatures who have places to go and things to do, and are not just about cute little precious animals. She appreciated the beauty of nature while respecting its ruthlessness so her stories are true to the laws of nature.

Note- Beater Rabbit books are from my personal library.
