Chapter 19 Order of the Phoenix: The Lion and the Serpent. One of the worst Quidditch matches in history takes place, and Harry is banned from the team.
Harry and his D.A. group make impressive gains and are quite proud of themselves both for their success and for being able to do it without Umbridge knowing. Hermoine makes up fake Galleons that help them organize times to get together.
Along comes a Quidditch match with Slytherin vs Gryffindor. Ron is very worried about the match, but Harry tries to cheer him up. Unfortunately, first Harry sees that the Slytherins all have crown-shaped badges saying "Weasley is our King". That seems awfully odd for the Slytherins to say. It turns out that the Slytherins have an entire song about Ron Weasley that they sing during the game:
Weasley cannot save a thing
He cannot block a single ring,
That's why Slytherins all sing:
Weasley is our King.
Weasley was born in a bin,
He always lets the Quaffle in,
Weasley will make sure we win,
Weasley is our King.
Weasley is our King,
Weasley is our King,
He always lets the Quaffle in,
Weasley is our King.
Ron is of course completely distraught by all of this, and the Slytherins keep scoring against him. The announcer tries to drown out the singing but can't. Harry finally grabs the snitch so the Gryffnidors win, but Crabbe whacks him with a bludger at that point. Malfoy starts insulting the Weasleys and then Harry too, and suddenly Harry and George are both in a punching match with Malfoy and the teachers are pulling them apart.
George, Fred and Harry are sent to Professor McGonagall who is furious with them for losing their temper like that. But while she is trying to scold them, in comes Umbridge with Educational Decree Number Twenty-five: that the High Inquisitor is allowed to give out punishments. She bans all 3 from ever playing Quidditch again and confiscates their brooms.
The only spot of happiness at the end of the chapter is that Hagrid has returned.
