More Herbal Plants that Heal

Treating medical conditions with herbs has gained great popularity among many people who are discontented with modern medicine and seek natural and healthy alternative medicine to cure various heath related conditions and problems. In Modern Herbal Plants That Heal are more popular herbal plants used to treat many common health related conditions.

Betony- This herb was once a very popular herb for curing many health conditions and it is still quite popular folk remedy in may countries today. Most use Betony for its ability to treat diarrhea and irritated throat, mouth, and gums.

Black Cohosh- This herb is used by many herbal specialist to treat many types of common female problems. For example, menstrual and PMS complaints.

Blue Cohosh- Recommended by herbal specialist for many female conditions which include treating painful menstrual flow and stimulating the uterus.

Bran- Eating bran on a regular basis is a way to add fiber to the diet.

Catnip- A hot tea made from catnip taken just before going to sleep is thought to help with sleep disorders. Tea is also consumed to treat upset stomach.

Comfrey- Thought to heal wounds when applied to the skin. Drink comfrey tea to soothe and heal common stomach ailments.

Evening Primrose- Many claim that evening primrose helps them to control their weight, lower blood pressure, relieve menstrual cramps, and reduce the effects of a hangover.

Ginkgo- This herb is thought to improve the blood flow in the body. Thought to improve the memory and alertness in the elderly. Also has potent antioxidant qualities.

Goldenseal- Thought to be a good health tonic and generally improves the circulation in the entire body.

Hibiscus- Many drink a herbal tea to soothe nerves. This tea is also thought to have a mild laxative effect on the body.

Lemongrass- Lemon grass tea helps one to sleep. And the lemon grass tea is also thought to clear up mucus in the throat.

Parsley- This herb is great for the digestion and to cure gas.

Passion Flower- The herb is used as a sedative in many popular herbal preparations to help with sleep disorders.

Rosemary- This is a very popular herb used to season food. Used in teas to treat stomach conditions and used in hair treatments to strengthen and darken brittle hair.

Spearmint- A popular flavoring in many foods. Also thought to treat many minor
stomach conditions, vomiting, and colic in babies.

Star Anise- Good for the digestion and relieves flatulence.

Valerian Root- Thought to have a sedative like effect on the body. Highly valued by many in herbal medicine to treat anxiety and some forms of hysteria. Many drink as a tea to calm the nerves.

Witch Hazel- Reduces skin inflammation.

The herbal plants included here are readily available at most health food stores. Consult your doctor or health care specialist for more information on taking herbal preparations.
