Father’s Day Crafts

Father’s Day Crafts
Father’s Day is when we celebrate all the things dads and grandpas do. Here are some crafts that your kids can make for dad or grandpa.

Duck Tape Card
6+
You will need:
-Duck Tape (silver)
-Scissors

This is simply a sheet of duck tape instead of a sheet of paper. It makes a very unique card to accompany any gift for dad.

To make a sheet of duck tape 8.5 x 11.5 take a piece of duck tape 10 inches long and lay it sticky side up on a counter or flat workspace. Take another strip of duck tape and lay it sticky side up overlapping ½ inch. Repeat until the sheet is 13 inches across.

Now you wil then lay strips of duck tape sticky side down on top of your bottom strips, overlapping the same way. Cut your sheet to size.

“Dad” Card
4+
You will need:
-Paper
-Scissors
-Pencil or pen
Optional
-Crayons
-Markers

For this craft I created a template that you can print out. Fold in half on the dashed lines and cut on the solid lines. Decorate the inside of the card.

The card can also serve as a place holder for dad.

#1 Dad Trophy

4+
You will need:
-Clay
-Oven
-Rolling pin
-Paint
-Paint brush

I used white Sculpey oven bake clay because it is fairly easy to mold and it will not harden until I bake it.

Steps 1-4(1) Make a 3 inch ball of clay and roll out into an circle/oval shape with the rolling pin.

(2) Next you want to gently bring one side over to the other, it will look some what like an empty burrito.

(3) Squeeze the middle together (insert one end of the rolling pin if you are concerned with that one end could collapse) and fan out one end to make the base.

(4) You will have what looks like a small clay wine glass. To make the handles roll out a thin piece of clay two inches long and attach one end to the bottom of your “cup” bend the strip and attach about 1/8 - 1/4 of an inch from the top of the “cup”. Repeat on both sides for the trophy handles.

Bake according to package directions. Paint and decorate for dad. **Note: some clay products have you paint before baking, check the directions.

Print and fill out one of these awards for dad or grandpa.
