Tennis at La Quinta Resort

Tennis at La Quinta Resort
The La Quinta Resort & Club sits at the base of the majestic Santa Rosa Mountains, in a world of it's own, where guests escape to relaxation and recreation. It is the longest running resort in the Palm Springs desert area, amidst 45 acres of orange, lemon and grapefruit trees, towering palms, and beautiful grounds with colorful flower gardens.

The resort is a throwback to old world Palm Springs with 800 guest rooms and suites situated in Spanish-style casitas with garden or mountain views. Especially inviting are the 42 pools and 52 whirlpool spas conveniently located just outside your door.

Over the years, the resort has attracted some of Hollywood's brightest stars, including Bette Davis, Clark Gable, Errol Flynn, Katherine Hepburn, Greta Garbo and Shirley Temple. Past guests also include political dignitaries, business leaders and sports heroes.

La Quinta is recognized as a premier tennis resort, rated Top 20 by Tennis Magazine, and named to The Gold List by Conde Nast Traveler. The tennis facility has 18 hard courts (10 lighted for night play), 3 clay courts (Har-Tru) and 2 grass courts. The staff includes USPTA certified instructors that offer private and group lessons, as well as daily clinics, private video and junior tennis. Tennis Coordinators are available to set up a match for you, singles or doubles, on grass, clay or hard courts.

In addition to tennis, the Palm Springs area is an oasis of resort style living with many of the world's top golf courses within a 20 mile radius. It is a beautiful destination but beware of desert conditions and extreme heat. High season is January through April, when it tends to be most crowded. Many visitors and local "snowbird" residents pack up for the summer and return in November. Getting a tennis game during August in 110+ degree weather is near impossible but you'll find some great deals on golf.

The Coachella Valley is a beautiful paradise in the Southern California desert and an ideal destination for the entire family that is most comfortably enjoyed during spring time.
