Cravings Daily Devotional Review

God tells us to commit ourselves wholeheartedly to His words. In Old Testament times, people were to wear them on their foreheads and write them on their doorposts. (Deuteronomy 11:18-20) He wants us to spend time in the Bible. He knows that when trouble comes, when the struggles of life get the better of us, we need His word firmly planted in our hearts.

Daily time in the Bible is precious. Once formed, the habit of daily devotion is as necessary as food and water. Start the day with God’s word and everything seems to fall into place.

You may have developed the habit early on – treasuring your daily devotional time. However, as many new mothers have found, once a baby arrives, everything changes. Suddenly, your organized and comfortable schedule is turned upside down – to be dictated by a tiny infant or a toddler or two. You may have found that there is an inner craving that can’t be satisfied – except with God’s word.

Carey C. Bailey designed this daily devotional with busy mothers in mind. Forty cards are housed in a sturdy pink cupcake shaped holder. Each card contains a scripture verse from the Psalms, short and guaranteed to calm a troubled heart. After the verse is a short paragraph of Carey’s thoughts about that scripture. These thoughts are relevant to a busy woman, easy to read and easy to understand. The day’s devotional is topped off with an action idea – something that can be put into practice even in the busiest life. Each card is designed to take only a few minutes to read and even has a hands-free option for when your hands are full.

Although Carey C. Bailey designed her devotional with busy moms in mind, it is perfect for any woman with a hectic schedule. The Cravings Cupcake can easily fit on the breakfast table or the corner of your desk at the office or on the nightstand to read before drifting off to sleep. It has been a number of years since I was a young mother. I now have plenty of time for my daily devotion. Cravings is a sweet addition to my day. Most of the thoughts and action ideas are easily translated into ideas that are meaningful to anyone – chasing after children or not.

Cravings, The Daily Devotional in a Cupcake was provided to me free of charge for and honest review. You can find it in Christian book stores and at Cravingonline.net
