Itís five days and counting and you donít have all of your gifts ready yet. Time to hit the malls? I donít think so.
But a craft store might just be the answer to your dilemma. Thereís life after the holidays and melt and pour soaps, scented candles, door wreaths and potpourri make great gifts for any time of the year.
But as long as youíve got the family together, youíve got extra hands to help with the creations. And if someone says, I like a particular piece, you can slip his or her name on it. Surprise!
Holiday Scents for Last Minute Gifts
Cinnamon, Peppermint, Pine, Vanilla and Sage are but a few of the essential oils that are used this time of year to scent handcrafted gifts.
Sometimes those scented gifts could be for you. Refresh your broomstick from Halloween with the scent of cinnamon essential oil. Bring life to apple cider with cinnamon sticks.
Pinecones and fresh pine sprigs from your yard can give freshness to a centerpiece for your holiday table. Spray paint them add pine essential oil and walnut shells to a beautifully decorated glass container and youíve got fresh potpourri.
Thereís nothing like fresh baked cupcakes with homemade vanilla icing to bring heaven to your kitchen. Vanilla flavoring gives sweetness to any pastry that you bake, from cakes to pies to homemade ice cream.
How does sage fit into the mix of holiday scents? No table is complete without fresh cooked dressing/stuffing and sage is one of those secret but main ingredients that bring joy to your palette.
