1992 - The case of the Long Island Lolita, Amy Fisher shot and seriously wounded Mary Jo Buttafuoco, the wife of Joey Buttafuoco, the man she was having an affair with.

Nora Ephron the screenwriter for such films as “Sleepless in Seattle”, “You’ve Got Mail” and “Silkwood” was born in 1941.

James Fox who has appeared in “Patriot Games”, “Remains of the Day” and “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” was born in 1939.

Lorraine Hansberry the author of “A Raisin in the Sun” was born in 1930.

David Hartman the long time host of “Good Morning America” was born in 1935.

David Helfgott the Australian pianist was born in 1947. The movie “Shine” is based on him.

Dusty Hill the bassist for rock music’s ZZ Top was born in 1949.

Grace Jones who starred in “Conan the Destroyer” and as a Bond girl in “A View to a Kill” was born in 1948.

Jim Lehrer the renowned TV journalist was born in 1934.

Eric Lloyd who starred in “The Santa Clause” movies was born in 1986.

Malcolm X the Civil Rights leader was born in 1925.

Archie Manning the former football player and father of quarterbacks Peyton and Eli Manning was born in 1949.

Peter Mayhew who is best known as playing Chewbacca in the “Star Wars” films was born in 1944.

Ho Chi Minh the former leader of North Vietnam was born in 1890.

Pol Pot the Cambodian dictator was born in 1925.

Joey Ramone the singer for music’s The Ramones was born in 1951.

Andre Roussimoff a.k.a. Andre the Giant the wrestling champion and actor who starred in “The Princess Bride” was born in 1946.

Phil Rudd the drummer for the rock band AC/DC was born in 1954.

Francis “Dick” Scobee the commander of the ill-fated Challenger Shuttle mission was born in 1939.

Nicole Brown Simpson was born in 1959. The former wife of O.J. Simpson, Nicole and Ronald Goldman were murdered on June 12, 1994, leading up to the “Trial of the Century”.

Pete Townshend the guitarist for the rock band The Who was born in 1945.

We Said Goodbye To…

Anne Boleyn the wife of England’s King Henry VIII and mother of Queen Elizabeth I was beheaded in 1536 at the age of 34.

Henry Corden one of the infamous voices of Fred Flintstone passed away in 2005 at the age of 85.

Freddie Garrity the front man for music’s Freddie and the Dreamers passed away in 2006 at the age of 65.

Nathaniel Hawthorne the renowned author of such classics as “The Scarlet Letter” and “House of the Seven Gables” passed away in 1864 at the age of 59.

Thomas Edward Lawrence the soldier/adventurer passed away in 1935 at the age of 46. He was portrayed by Peter O’Toole in the iconic film “Lawrence of Arabia”.

Walter Lord the author of “A Night to Remember” passed away in 2002 at the age of 84.

Odgen Nash the poet/humorist passed away in 1971 at the age of 68.

Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis the wife of President John F. Kennedy and then later Greek tycoon Aristotle Onassis passed away in 1994 at the age of 64.
