Guest Author - Vance R. Rowe
Hello everyone. My name is Vance and I am the new editor for the Today in History site and would like you to sign up for my weekly newsletter so I can keep you all abreast of the things I am doing with the site.
My objective in writing articles will be to acknowledge women who helped shape this country and the world as well as the events that happened to bring women in the forefront. For instance, we all know about our first president, George Washington, but little is known about his wife, Martha Washington so on her birthday or during the week of her birthday, I will write an article about her instead of her husband. I will also do articles about events or people on a certain day in history that may or may not have something to do with women. My articles will either be about one woman, one man, one event or if several historical events happened during a week then I will write about those events in one article.
Also, my newsletters will contain quotes about the people and/or the events I write about. The newsletter will contain links to anything going on in my forum that you won’t want to miss such as games or polls or other fun stuff going on in there. The newsletters will contain little things that happened during the week I send them out. For instance, if I write an article about Elvis Presley either on the anniversary of his birthday in 1935 or the anniversary of his death in 1977 and will let you know about it in my newsletter, I will note things like who was born on that day, what was the price of gas then, how much a loaf of bread was, how much a home cost then, trivia questions and other things like that as well. All of these things will be in my newsletter.
So please sign up for my newsletter so you do not miss out on the fun and do not miss out on the informative articles I will write. I am going to bring fun and information to the Today in History site and I would like you all to be a part of it. You can sign up for it on the right hand side of this page or at the very bottom of this page. Thank you so much.
