Chocolate is a fragrance that everyone either loves or hates. Just saying the word makes some people swear they gained five pounds. Anyway you slice it, be it chocolate cake, pie, ice cream, or just plain melt in your mouth chocolate, it is one of the most beloved fragrances and tastes.
Chocolate is good for other things besides eating. It is considered very beneficial to the skin. When you make your own spa treatments using chocolate, your skin benefits from the experience, as does your nose!
This recipe makes your skin very soft. The ingredients look like it would make a goopy mess, and admittedly, it does, but it is contained until it goes on your skin, and it washes right out of your bowl. You most likely have everything the recipe calls for in your home already.
CHOCOLATE MASK WITH HONEY
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1 tablespoon cottage cheese
¼ cup honey
¼ cup oatmeal
Container for mixing
Warm washcloth for washing off your face and hands
Towel for patting dry
Mix the cocoa powder, cottage cheese, honey and oatmeal together in a bowl.
If you want less dry, add more honey or cottage cheese. Should you want it a little drier, add more cocoa powder or oatmeal.
When thoroughly mixed, place it on your clean, dry face and relax for about 10 – 15 minutes. Avoid the eye area as with all masks.
Stretch out and listen to a meditation tape and take some time for yourself.
Afterwards, rub off with the warm washcloth and then pat dry with a towel.
This recipe is one of the easiest and quickest to put together. The ingredients are probably already in your kitchen.
CHOCOLATE MASK WITH YOGURT
¼ cup cocoa powder
2 teaspoons olive oil
Plain yogurt
Container for mixing
Warm washcloth for washing off your face and hands
Towel for patting dry
Mix the cocoa powder with the olive oil thoroughly and add just enough of the yogurt to make a pasty concoction.
Place on your face, avoiding the eye areas. Rest and relax for about 10 – 15 minutes. Wash off and pat dry.
This is a very easy recipe to make with items you probably have around the house already. If teens or preteens are having a slumber party, this is a good recipe for them to make.
CHOCOLATE LIP GLOSS
Petroleum Jelly
Cocoa
Container for lip gloss (bead holders found at craft stores are perfect)
Melting container
Toothpick (for stirring)
Put the desired amount of petroleum jelly into the melting container. If you are making just one small container full, try just one tablespoon. Microwave for about 20 seconds and then check to see if the jelly has melted. If not, put in for an additional 15 seconds at a time until the jelly is all melted.
Pour the jelly into the small container you chose to place the lip gloss in. Add 1/4 teaspoon cocoa and stir well with the toothpick. You can play with the amount of cocoa you place in the jelly. If you want more cocoa, feel free to add it in.
Set aside until the jelly cools and enjoy!
This is a recipe that you can put in your bathtub and soak away your cares. You could also stretch it out over many foot soaks. Whether you soak your hands, elbows, feet, or your whole body, your skin will be left feeling luxuriously soft.
CHOCOLATE SUPREME FOOT SOAK
