Snowflakes in Winter
The Snowflake: Winter’s Secret Beauty by Kenneth Libbrecht
This book is a collection of amazing photography of snow crystals. Kenneth Libbrecht uses a unique system which allows him to take super-detailed micro images of these miniature ice masterpieces. The text is educational and the photography is captivating. The first seven chapters explain how and why snow crystals form, and explain the history of our understanding of snow. Chapter 8 is the longest, but the whole book is enjoyable and inspiring reading. The photography is amazing!

Toby and the Snowflakes by Julie Halperni
Toby is sad that his friend has moved away, but when the snow comes he makes friends with the snowflakes. He creates snow angels, and makes snowmen and then the snow melts. He is sad again, but then a new boy moves in down the street and he has a new buddy. This book respects the feelings of young Toby and helps to answer questions about change and loneliness.
