Heritage Handmade Soaps Review
Guest Author - Justine Crane

I’m always on the look-out for those little handmade skincare companies whose main objective is to stand out from the massing crowds of mediocrity, and I believe I may have found a ‘stand out’ nestled in the windswept arms of San Marcos, Texas.

Heritage Handmade Soaps create their divine soaps not by adding fad ingredients, such as the newest juicy fragrance oil or exotic plant butter, but by incorporating rich, skin-loving silts, clays & muds. Simplicity at its finest.

Green Silt Soap ~ Silt is the fine, naturally ground mud-like substance at the bottom of rivers and lakes. Rich in essential minerals, vitamins and loaded with detoxifying agents, silt is believed to promote cell oxygenation, thereby leaving skin fresh, clean and revitalized. Heritage Handmade Soaps’ Green Silt Soap utilizes a rich European lake silt, which is dead on perfect for dry and sensitive skin. Green Silt Soap has a rich, copious lather and the bar lasts a little longer than a lot of other handmade soaps. The color of this soap is gorgeous ~ bright avocado green! It left my somewhat sensitive skin smooth and refreshed without any dryness

Dead Sea Mud Soap ~ Yet another wonderfully crafted soap, gently scented and oh, so very creamy. Made in a base of avocado, coconut, olive, palm, shea and hemp butters with bits of Dead Sea clay swirled about. This is a delicious little soap perfect for those suffering from oily skin or acne ~ this soap is very mild and gently cleansing with a smooth, creamy lather.

Moor Mud Soap ~ One of my favorites. I mean, what could be more decadent and indulgent than a lovely mineral mud bath? Moor mud is reputed to balance, tone and detoxify skin, so if you’re experiencing problems with over active, under active or just plain icky skin, rub a bit of Moor mud soap over it and watch your beautiful, luminous skin reappear. This Moor mud soap is a rich concoction of Moor and Dead Sea muds in a base of avocado, coconut, palm kernel and rice bran with mango and hemp butters. Another beautifully lathering soap that lasts a long time. Try this one in the bathtub to get the full effect of the mud ~ showering is ok, too. It is great for nearly all skin types, and if I’m not mistaken, I believe it can be produced by Heritage Handmade Soaps with or without scenting. A definite winner!

Rhassoul Soap ~ I am a huge fan of rhassoul. Jam packed with silica, magnesium, potassium and calcium, it is considered the richest of all clays. Rhassoul can improve skin’s elasticity, improve texture, clarity & dryness. Heritage Handmade Soaps uses generous amounts of rhassoul in their soap, so you truly reap the benefits of this amazing clay. The lather was creamy and rich. What more could you ask for?

All of the Heritage Handmade Soaps’ creations I received were perfect ~ from packaging to ingredients. There is a wholesomeness to these soaps that I often find lacking in many other handmade soaps, something that goes beyond the visual presentation ~ a spirit of generosity and a desire to produce an exquisite product.

Heritage Handmade Soaps are beautifully packaged in little boxes describing the soap, its ingredients and all the other pertinent information, with the actual bar wrapped in delicate tissue paper. Their products would be a wonderful addition to any retailer selling quality, natural skincare.
