Gluten Free Brownie in a Jar Gift Recipe

Gluten Free Brownie in a Jar Gift Recipe
I like to keep a few gift jars around the house during this time of year, I actually make small gift baskets that contain Gluten Free Hot Chocolate mix, cookies and gifts in a jar. If someone comes over unexpected I have a little bit of Christmas cheer for them to take home.

Supplies
6 wide-mouth quart (4-cup) canning jars with lid and rings
6 yards craft ribbon
1/2 yard print cotton fabric (novelty print)
2 pieces card stock (for tags)

Ingredients
The recipe below yields 1 gift jar, I measure out the ingredients for each jar one at a time, I also place each ingredient in a separate bowl so I know exactly what I have placed in my jar. When you are creating jar recipes all the components are important.
2/3 teaspoons sea salt
1 1/8 cup cup for cup Gluten Free flour, divided
1/3 cup cocoa powder
2/3 cup brown sugar
2/3 cup sugar
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup white chocolate chips
1/2 cup walnuts or pecans (optional)

Directions

Wash, rinse and dry canning jars. I like to put mine in the dishwasher, and run them through a full cycle, this also is a great sterilizer/sanitizer.
Layer ingredients as follows:
2/3 teaspoon sea salt
5/8 cup (cup for cup) GF flour
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1/2 cup (cup for cup) GF flour
2/3 cup brown sugar
2/3 cup sugar
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup white chocolate chips
1/2 cup walnuts or pecans (optional)

If you choose not to use walnuts or pecans, you can add candy sprinkles or crushed candy canes instead. That way the jar still looks pretty, as well it adds a nice flavor to the brownies. Close jars with lids and rings. Cut twelve 7-inch circles from cotton fabric. Top each jar with fabric circle, and tie with ribbon then attach the gift tag and directions. I like to number the recipe instructions for the tag, it makes it more attractive and finished.

Gift Tag Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease one 9x9 baking pan.
2.Pour the contents of the jar into a large bowl and mix well.
3.Stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla, 2/3 cup vegetable oil or 2/3 of a cup of melted butter and 3 eggs.
4.Beat until just combined.
5.Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes.
