Restore and Revive With Aromatherapy

Restore and Revive With Aromatherapy
There's nothing like an essential oil to lift your mood, revitalize your skin or help you to relax in the mist of chaos. Here are a few ways to restore and revive your skin, your mood and your entire body.

Become a Bathing Beauty - There's nothing like a warm bath when you're feeling less than fabulous. I like to use Himalayan Pink Salt with a little jojoba oil. This sets my base for the essential oils to be added.

By adding 4 drops of lemon, bergamot, and geranium essential oils to 1 cup of Himalayan Salt, you've got an infusion that will soothe, hydrate and nourish your skin. Baths are a great way to detox and relieve sore muscles.

Moisturize Your Skin - Creams don't always cut it, especially during the winter months. So what's a girl to do? Opt for body oils, they're a great way to soothe and moisturize your skin. You can create your own blend with 12 ml of jojoba oil and 2 drops of sweet orange, geranium and ylang ylang respectively, and you've now got a wonderful massage/body oil.

Don't want to be the creative one this week? There are plenty of natural beauty businesses that already provide body oils, mine included.

Exfoliation - This process is one in which you're removing dead skin cell build-up. Whether it's your face or your body, dead skin cells can have you looking ashy and gray. This is often the cause of uneven skin tone.

You can combine Himalayan Pink Salt with Shea butter, coconut oil and five drops of rose and three drops of bergamot essential oil. The Shea butter gives your body scrub a soothing/moisturizing feeling. It will allow you to gently remove the dead skin cells and have your skin feeling soft and smooth.

Facial Masque are great for decongesting your skin helping to reveal the youthful dewy and radiant looking skin that's been hiding. Depending on your skin type, you'll chose masque that work best for you. Mature, dry and sensitive skin seems to love Kaolin masque. Oily skin fares best with green clay masque.

Clay masque also act as a mild exfoliant, which is why it's not a good idea to exfoliate and use clay masque during the same treatment.

The next time you need R&R - To Restore and Revive - think of these tips and give them a try. That's is for this week.
