Top Unwanted Hair Removal Methods

Removing unwanted hair on the face and body is a difficult process for women. Of course, a method that is quick and easy is preferred. The shelves in local retail stores are lined with products that claim to simplify removing unwanted body or facial hair, but few live up to that claim. In this article, we take a closer look at popular hair removal methods.

The Razor
Applying a razor to facial skin or the body to remove hair is a method that delivers quick and acceptable results. However, this method might cause ingrown hair. Ingrown hairs grow back into the skin, instead of growing outward. Naturally curly haired people are very familiar with this problem.

Depilatory
Depilatory creams are filled with chemicals that dissolve the hair. However, it is important to read the label and select the right type of depilatory product. Some are specifically for the face, while others are for the body. Also, it's important to follow instructions carefully. Leaving the creme on longer than recommended might burn your skin. This hair removal method works well on the face and body.

Waxing
Home waxing kits are available. Waxing is also a hair removal method that is available at salons. Here is the way the hair removal method works. Hot wax is applied to the skin with an applicator to remove the hair. One warning, the method is messy and might burn your skin. This hair removal method is best for removing upper lip hair or hair around the bikini line.

Laser
The laser method requires a professional familiar with the correct way to target the dark pigment at the end of the hair follicle. The laser light is designed to destroy the hair follicle. This hair removal method works best on women with dark hair and light skin. This treatment is available at spa's and clinics. The laser method is a permanent hair removal procedure. However, it might require several sessions to complete the hair removal process.

Epilator
The epilator is a device that rapidly removes hairs. The new devices are a vast improvement over the previous models. The device is a step above shaving or plucking. It's ideal for women with sensitive skin. Another benefit is that the hair grows back slower.

Threading
Threading is an ancient Indian and Middle Eastern hair removal method, available at salons. Strings are twisted and applied in a way to remove unwanted hair out of the skin. However, this method tends to irritate sensitive skin.

Tweezing
Tweezing is the best option for removing a few hairs on areas like the eyebrows. This method is not suggested for large areas because it causes noticeable irritation and ingrown hairs.
