Changing Seasons With Natural Perfumes

Changing Seasons With Natural Perfumes
As you enter the seasons from one change to another, you'll begin to smell the aroma in the air. Spring and summer give you floral blends as you smell the gardenias and honeysuckle growing wild in the field. Fall and winter give you fresh air crispness, the smell of wood burning in the fireplace as the temperatures begin to drop. Apple cider and cinnamon give you the feeling of being wrapped in its freshness. Yes these are the aromas of the ever changing world of scents.

In the world of scents, it's a natural world and when you pick up all that it has to offer, it can transport you into other realms with one soft inhalation. One of the greatest skills you can learn is how to make your own set of perfumes. The good thing about it, is that you don't have to try and make a lot of any particular blend. Your testing and creating, just for you. This takes the pressure off of trying to be perfect. Of course you want a great smelling blend but it doesn't have to be on any large quantity scale.

Creating a Blend Just For You

The beauty of blending for yourself, is that, you know exactly what you want and how you want it to smell. If you like amber, vanilla and jasmine, that's exactly what your blend will include. You can make a base blend and add it to unscented butters and lotions causing a layering affect. Layering your scents allows it to linger longer and your body will absorb the blend into your skin on a deeper level.

If this is your first outing with making natural perfumes, you'll want to have a few basics in place. Some questions that might arise are:

Will your blend be oil or alcohol based?
What type of blend will you create? Sensual, fruity, clean, floral or woody
Will your blend be for solid perfumes, body sprays, roll-ons or body oils?
What will your scent pyramid look like? (top, middle and base notes)
How will you store your blend?

Of course when you're making your natural perfume, it's assumed that you will use essential oils. Not only will your blend offer you an amazing variety of scents, it will also have therapeutic benefits. Don't forget, essential oils are known to have benefits that have aided in the elimination of ailments and long term health conditions.

There are plenty of books and courses to help you along your way as you begin your natural perfume journey. The main key is patience. Learn to be still and listen to your inner voice when your scents are speaking. You'll be happy you did.

That’s it for this week.
