Anyone who loves to serve mouthwatering brunches to family and friends will want to immediately pick up a copy of popular blogger, Sarah Kieffer’s baking book, 100 Morning Treats: With Muffins, Rolls, Biscuits, Sweet and Savory Breakfast Breads, and More. This excellent cookbook includes dozens of fabulous baked treats to serve at breakfast, brunch, or for dessert.
This well-written cookbook has helpful hints at the beginning of each recipe, and the recipes are written in the traditional manner with a list of ingredients followed by step-by-step instructions. And while the recipes are mostly not quick and easy, they are definitely doable for both beginning and advanced cooks.
Basic doughs are included, which are used to make many of the fabulous baked goods such as morning buns (delicious, and made with Cheater Croissant Dough), Kouignettes, Cruffins, Blackberry Puff Pastry Tartlets, and Brioche Bagels. The book also includes several unique and fancy cakes such as White Chocolate and Fig Pound Cake, Marble Bundt Cake, Chocolate Pudding Bundt Cake, and Tiramisu Bundt Cake. There are also muffins, loaf breads, scones, and popovers, all which go with breakfast and brunch main dishes. While most of the offerings are sweet, there are also savory bakes, such as Prosciutto Gruyère Croissants, and sheet pan breakfast.
There are beautiful, professional photographs of almost every recipe, which makes it almost impossible to decide which mouthwatering recipe to make next.
All told, this is an excellent cookbook and will make an excellent addition to any cookbook collection. Bakers will use it often.
