“I have heard all of your requests.
Believe it or not, you are not a lost cause,
You have a hope set before you that is unimaginable.
You have paths of joy stretched before you longer than meets the eye.
But first, you must trust Me.
I will take you down paths that will frustrate you,
I will introduce you to people who will make you mad,
I will tie your hands and allow you to struggle
so you may see I take care of My own.
I will walk into the fire with you and you will not be burned,
I will part the sea blocking your path,
I will send you manna when you are hungry and light when it is dark.
When my face is hidden from you,
I will pass by so you may see My shoulder as Moses did.
And finally, When you are still in your brokenness,
when I have appeared to do nothing
and you have done nothing but wait in return...then child,
I will bless you.
Then you will say, “Lo and behold,
I have made it to the land of rainbows.
Surely my God has not forgotten me!”

I’ve read a lot of books in my day. I started with my favorites, The Laura Ingalls Wilder Little House Series, that my parents bought for me when I was 13. I read the covers off!!! Well, those books are long gone now although I plan to replace them this Christmas for myself. But, I wish that someone could have given me a book like this when I turned 13. This book moved me almost beyond words (notice I said almost!) I really felt the Lord speaking to me on just about every issue I have in my life with every turn of the page.
Not only is this a book that I would recommend for young teen aged girls (I sent my copy to my niece who turns 13 this year) but for every 40-something -13 - year - old - at - heart girl out there who could use a little encouragement for your soul.
Shannon Kubiak Is a graduate of Biola University where she received a B.A. in Journalism with a minor in Biblical Studies. She is a popular speaker at youth events across the country. In this, her second book, she again shares so much of her own life experience with the reader I came away feeling as if I knew her personally and we were great friends! I’m sure you will, too. Here it is...God Called A Girl by Shannon Kubiak….Pick up your copy right now!! Makes a great gift for that young woman who is just starting out on her journey through some of the roughest times she may ever encounter!
