DVD Review - The Secret

Guest Author - Deanna Joseph

“You create your own universe as you go along.” Winston Churchill 1874-1965

In the last few months the DVD of “The Secret” has caused quite a stir with its promise to teach the secret of attracting happiness, health and wealth, and it has been featured recently on Oprah, the Ellen DeGeneres show and Larry King Live.

The DVD features some of the greatest philosophers, personal performance coaches, healers, scientists and authors of our time, including Jack Canfield (Chicken Soup for the Soul), Neale Donald Walsch (Conversations with God), Bob Proctor, Joe Vitale, and Fred Alan Wolf (who also appeared on “What the Bleep”).

So what is “The Secret?” The Secret is the Law of Attraction.

”Your thoughts and your feelings create your life.” Lisa Nichols – Author

Much more than positive thinking, the Law of Attraction focuses on how we are feeling and how those feelings can change our lives. Have you ever started out having a bad day, and then the day just seems to get worse minute by minute? That is the law of attraction in action. The law of attraction tells us that whatever we are feeling in our body and spirit is what we attract into our path.

”The Secret” is the creation of Rhonda Byrne, an Australian woman who was inspired by the law of attraction when she read the book “The Science of Getting Rich” by Wallace D. Wattles (a book written in 1910). She was so impressed by this book that she spent the next few months tracing this “secret” back through history. “The Secret” is a result of her investigation.

The movie itself is beautiful to watch. It’s high quality and well done, and comes across more like a documentary than a movie. Every speaker is so inspiring and knowledgeable, that I honestly had tears in my eyes the first time I watched it (I’ve watched it several times now).

It is being said that this DVD truly has the potential to change lives, and I agree. Of course you know it’s not the movie itself that will change your life, anymore than reading a diet book will help you loose weight. It’s putting it’s principles into action, and living them day by day. The movie very neatly outlines all the steps necessary to making changes, and is very easy to follow. I’ve watched the movie several times now, and pick up something new each time I watch it.

”The Secret” is filled with information on making positive changes, and I highly recommend it for anyone who is ready to create the life they have dreamed of.
