Taking Care of Summer Feet
We spend a lot of time standing on our feet all day. Feet are important to us to say they least. They support us in all our daily activities. We often neglect our feet in our total body care and beauty regimens. It's time for us to take a stand and stand up for foot care before our feet let us down. Let's face it, when our feet are feeling down, we feel very down. So, in this article we discuss how to take care of those summer feet. Why Summer Feet? Well, our feet are exposed more often during the summer. And consequently should receive a bit more summer care.
Taking Care of Summer Feet
Keep Feet Clean -Keep your Footsies clean and well moisturized. Remember to slather on the moisturizer every time you go outdoors. Apply a sun screen to the top of your feet and don't neglect in between those toes. These areas on the feet receive the most sun exposure.
Protect Your Feet - Ignore the urge to run through the grass in the park or sandy beach in bare feet. This could damage the feet or cause an injury. After all we want to protect our feet and keep them clean and attractive. Instead of going barefoot wear sandals or a pair of flats.
Soak Those Feet - Soak your feet in a nice relaxing bath of warm water and Epsom salt after a busy day. Afterwards pat feet dry and massage warm baby oil, sesame oil, or olive oil into the feet on the top and bottom. And pay special attention to the heels which are often neglected. Slip on a pair of thin socks afterwards. Put your feet up and let them relax.
Change Shoes - Give your tired feet a break and don't wear the same cramped shoes that you wore in the colder months. Wear open toed shoes, sandals, and flip flops, when appropriate.
Pumice Stone - Purchase a pumice stone and use it regularly to remove dead skin on the feet. This helps to make feet look smoother and much more attractive.
Go Natural - Give your feet a break during the summer and forget about the bright shiny nail polish on toe nails. Trim and buff nails lightly and let the natural nails shine through.
Foot Check - Double check feet for blisters, corns, or infections. Blisters and corns are often signs that your shoes are too tight and are rubbing against the skin. Think about wearing a size larger shoe. Dark discolored nails are also a sign of infection or wearing shoes that are too tight. Take the proper precautions to cure these problems.
