Seven Common Health Problems and Solutions

It is a good idea to have a doctor to confer with when a health problem arises, but many minor health problems are easily treated at home. Let's take a look at seven common health problems and their solutions.

Body Odor
Women are often embarrassed to talk about body odor problems. Body odor is a common and natural occurrence. Body odor usually happens because sweating occurs and mixes with the bacteria under the arms or on the skin stimulating the release of an obnoxious odor. Here are a few solutions. Take one or two showers per day and change clothes frequently. Apply talcum powder under the arms and on the skin to reduce sweating and odor. Use a natural deodorant to stop underarm odor.

Are you experiencing a characteristic sore throat and difficulty swallowing? Combine this with a heavy congested feeling in the chest and you are in all probability coming down with a cold. Many run to the doctor at the first sign of a common cold. Actually, there is not much that the doctor can do for the cold. The cold will run its course, which usually last about seven days or so. Treating the cold symptoms should give you some relief. Here's how. Take aspirin or acetaminophen to reduce pain. Take a natural cough medicine to reduce chest congestion and treat a sore throat.

Lower Back Pain
Just about everyone has suffered with back pain problems at least once. Quite a few women and men suffer regularly with lower back pain. The common reason back pain occurs is because the muscles supporting the back are too weak to support the weight of the upper body. This commonly leads to disc injury. Health professionals suggest resting the back and applying heat compress to the area. Take ibuprofen or acetaminophen to ease the pain. Those with recurring back pain might want to think about joining an exercise program to help strengthen back muscles.

Migraine Headaches
It is common for migraine headaches to start during the teen years in many sufferers. The headaches tend to decrease as they get older. Migraines take place when the blood vessels in the head become overly sensitive. The heartbeat extends the arterial walls which results in a throbbing pain. Health professionals recommend taking acetaminophen to ease minor migraine headaches. Doctors also recommend drinking a cup of coffee which helps tighten the arteries and reduce throbbing. Consult a doctor for more severe migraine headaches.

Warts are considered a viral disease and are quite contagious. It is easier than you might think to get a case of warts. People who go barefoot in public places or use another towel, hair brush or makeup are very susceptible to warts. Research shows that most warts usually disappear without any special treatment. But this might take up to a year or more. Tea tree oil and camphor are thought to help remove warts. In addition, there are wart treatment kits at local drugstores which are very effective.

Rashes range from severe to mild. They irritate the skin and cause the skin surface to change. Skin rashes can appear any where on the body where the skin has been irritated or exposed to chemicals. Many claim that they find relief with Aloe Vera Gel which is available at local drug stores. Another natural cure is to apply baking soda to the affected area. Rub into the area with gentle motions.

Psoriasis is characterized by small red flaky patches on the skin. Health care professionals recommend avoiding the sun because it makes the condition worse. Treatment with cortisone creams offer some relief. Old fashioned tar treatments applied to the skin are safe and a very effective old fashioned remedy.
