Taking Care of Hands
Many women assume that they should spend hundreds of dollars a year on their hands if they want them to look fabulous. So, they forgo proper hand care. These women probably do not realize that proper hand care doesn't require spending hundreds of dollars on products. It is truly possible to keep hands looking young, glowing, and moisturized, using a few basic products. Here are a few basic hand care products to add to your hand care regimen.
Hand Scrubs - You can't beat the exfoliating and cleansing power of a great hand scrub. Hand scrubs should work down deep into the skin and remove dirt, grease, and dead skin. You can make your own hand scrub using two tablespoon's oatmeal, a drop of lemon juice, and a drop of olive oil. Mix the ingredients together in a bowl. Take a brush and apply to hands. Massage the mixture into hands for about a minute. Leave on the hands for ten minutes and then rinse hands under cool running water and dry.
Moisturize Hands - A good hand moisturizer should be applied to the hands several times a day to keep them looking healthy and avoid dryness. There are plenty of hand moisturizers on the market. If you would like to save money and get the same effects try using plain old Vaseline or baby oil. Save even more money by buying the store brand baby oil and petroleum jelly.
Sun screens for Hands - Many slather sunscreens all over the face and basically forget about their hands which are constantly exposed to the sun when outdoors. So, don't forget to dab a bit of your sunscreen on hands and smooth in before going out into the sun. Try natural products like Burt's Bees Sun Screen SPF30 or Badger Sun screen SPF30.
Nighttime Treatments - There are great hand care kits that include several products for hand care along with specific products for nighttime treatments. Try Burt's Bees Hand Repair Kit, Ahava Dermud Dry Skin Treatment, Intensive Nourishing Hand Cream, Dermalogica Multivitamin Hand and Nail Treatment. Those who would like to save money might prefer to try this method: Each night slather Vaseline or petroleum jelly on both hands. Rub into nails and cuticles. Slip on a pair of cotton gloves and wear through the night. This keeps hands moisturized and glowing.
Protecting Hands - Make protecting your hands second nature to you. Wear thick gloves when gardening or cleaning. Wear rubber gloves when washing the dishes. Wear vinyl or rubber gloves when coloring the hair. And don't forget to coat the hands with an appropriate moisturizer to protect them from harmful irritants in the environment.
Use all the above hand care tips in collaboration to nourish, moisturize, protect, and take care of your hands.
