Kids Learn Honesty

Honesty is a social skill all kids need to learn so they can clearly look at their actions and make best choices. And, honesty is a quality that allows us to look in the mirror and see the reflection of how we really are.

Honesty carries over into communication and relationships at home, school and throughout life. If kids learn early what honesty is and practice it faithfully, they will be seen and trusted as honest people.

In honesty we see clearly and can make adjustments to keep actions going for the good of everyone in each situation in living.

A good way to teach honesty to kids is to remind them to listen to and follow their conscience.

And how do we follow our conscience?

By listening to that little voice within that tells us the right thing to do. And, if we are not sure about the right way to go we have some built in helps: When it is right and honest, our mind feels peaceful, without agitation, and our body feel relaxed without stress and stays full of energy.

Honest to good feelings with an attitude of wanting the best answer, reaps honest to good thoughts and actions.

Honesty is necessary in kids' lives, almost from day one, but especially from an age of accountability. If youngsters get away with telling lies or stealing it is only an incentive to do it again, because they didn't get caught.

It is best to reward honest actions in kids to encourage further honesty. And eventually, they will enjoy feeling good about their honest habits.

Practicing honesty consistently leads to spontaneous honest communications and actions.
