By looking at all of these scriptures together (II Tim 2:15) it would be impossible not to conclude that Lucifer had some type of “throne” (Is 14:13) and a dominion of some kind, over angels, that was destroyed by a flood of judgment at his rebellion. The absence of light on the earth (Gen 1:2) would also have potentially caused an ice age, causing the extinction of all plant and animal life. The literal six days of re-creation following that judgment, that plainly also states that God removed this body of water from the “dry land” (Gen 1:9), would have been the restoration or re-creation of the earth, after this catastrophic flood.
When God placed Adam and Eve on the restored earth, he told them to ”be fruitful, multiply and replenish the earth” (Gen 1:28), meaning to repopulate or refill. This is the very same word “replenish”, God told Noah and his family, when they exited the Ark, after the second flood of judgment, the first one being the one we have been looking at, found in Gen 1:2, caused by the fall of Lucifer, who sinned before Adam.
To believe that the judgment of those fallen angels, did not happen at a pre-Adamic time, on this same earth, you would have to deny the existence of millions of devils/demon sprits, that tempt the earth’s entire population of people, every day on this planet.
Why is this teaching important? A major reason, is the fact that Satan is the instigator of man’s fall and separation from God (spiritual death) as is described in Jn 10:10 and most people have a desire to understand how this all has taken place. Evil is in the world for a reason and people want to know why!
God knew Satan’s plan to cause man’s fall, nothing slips past our omniscient (all-knowing) God but it was God’s will for the test of evil to take place (Deut 30:19), I Pet 1:6-7 and Rev 20: 7-10).
Without this test, man did not have a free will to love and serve God and the Lord desires this to be by choice and not forced. When Jesus arrived as the “second Adam”, God also sent him into the wilderness, to be tempted of the devil. Jesus chose to serve God and fulfill his will.
Satan gained the dominion God gave Adam in the earth, by making him fall under him, as a servant. Satan desired to steal a dominion back, similar to what he had, before his own fall and he did successfully take man’s dominion and caused his fall and spiritual separation from God (Lk 4:5-8, II Cor 4:4 and Eph 2:2).
Jesus, the second Adam, our Lord and Savior, has redeemed mankind from this sin-condition, for any who will accept and receive it (believe). Read these scriptures that state this:
I Pet 1:18-21
It cost God plenty to get you out of that dead-end, empty-headed life you grew up in.
He paid with Christ's sacred blood, you know. He died like an unblemished, sacrificial lamb.
And this was no afterthought. Even though it has only lately--at the end of the ages--become public knowledge, God always knew he was going to do this for you.
It's because of this sacrificed Messiah, whom God then raised from the dead and glorified, that you trust God, that you know you have a future in God.
And II Cor 5:17-19
Now we look inside, and what we see is that anyone united with the Messiah gets a fresh start, is created new. The old life is gone; a new life burgeons! Look at it!
All this comes from the God who settled the relationship between him, and us and then called us to settle our relationships with each other.
God put the world square with himself through the Messiah, giving the world a fresh start by offering forgiveness of sins. God has given us the task of telling everyone what he is doing.
And also read John 3:16
"This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life.
And Rom 10:8-13
So what exactly was Moses saying? The word that saves is right here, as near as the tongue in your mouth, as close as the heart in your chest. It's the word of faith that welcomes God to go to work and set things right for us. This is the core of our preaching.
Say the welcoming words to God--"Jesus is my Master"--embracing, body and soul, God's work of doing in us what he did in raising Jesus from the dead. That's it. You're not "doing" anything; you're simply calling out to God, trusting him to do it for you. That's salvation.
With your whole being you embrace God setting things right, and then you say it, right out loud: "God has set everything right between him and me!"
Scripture reassures us, "No one who trusts God like this--heart and soul--will ever regret it."
It's exactly the same no matter what a person's religious background may be: the same God for all of us, acting the same incredibly generous way to everyone who calls out for help.
"Everyone who calls, 'Help, God!' gets help."
All state that we can be saved, redeemed and born again, by repenting of our lives as sinners and accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. The Bible says, “now is the acceptable time; behold, now is the day of salvation” (II Cor 6:2).*
