Great Wine Bargains From Chile
Guest Author - Paula S.W. Laurita

Many wine lovers don't want to spend big money on every day wine. Others can't afford to pull the cork on an expensive French wine. Where can they turn for good quality with low a price tag? To the wines of Chile!

Chile offers some of the best wine bargains. The ever increasing quality of Chilean wines make them even more attractive to frugal wine drinkers.

MontGras 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon/Syrah Reserva
This wine is a rocking good deal! It has marvelous red fruit from the bouquet to the last taste on the tongue. The hint of vanilla gives it a slightly sweet scent that accompanies the chocolate, plums, cherries. The flavors are of dark summer berries, dried fruits, spices, and earth. It has a wonderful feel in the mouth and a great balance. The average price is $15, but right now Wine.com is featuring it for $8. This wine will pair with everything from garlic chicken to burritos.

Concha y Toro 2005 Casillero Del Diablo Cabernet Sauvignon
Stock up on this wine now! It is has saturated and lively flavors, with ripe fruit, leather, spices, and dark cherries. It is a rich wine experience for a little price. This is a great wine for almost anything you grill, braised lamb, or spicy wings. A fantastic buy for under $10.

Los Vascos 2005 Chardonnay

This is what an affordable Chardonnay should be! It is soft and easy to drink, with melon, baked green apples, and a touch of honey. It fills the mouth with pleasantly broad flavors. The finish is soft with just a hint of acid. A great first experience with Chilean wine and a good bargain for $10. Serve with wine with seafood, vegetarian pizza, and dinner salads.
