Wine Reviews

This is the place to find wine reviews, red and white, good and bad.

2004 Bordeaux - St Emilion Grand Vin star
This is one of a series of wine reviews on Bordeaux. The 2004 St Emilion Grand Vin was a wine that I can not recommend you buy. Maybe the next Bordeaux will be better.

2005 - Bordeaux Grande Reserve de Beau-Rivage star
Advice – Free, One bottle of wine + Shipping + Tax - $22.45, A GREAT recommendation from a reader – Priceless!!! Check out this wine review for a GREAT 2005 Bordeaux.

2005 Cabernet Sauvignon - Columbia Crest star
If there is one thing I have learned about wines, it is that you can’t tell a wine by its label. Some labels are written by marketing people, others by poets, some by wine makers and lastly the rest are not written by any one at all – they are blank and void of description.

2005 Sangiovese & Cabernet Sauvignon star
This 2005 Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon from Montalcino Italy is affordable and is a great wine for prime rib, pot roast, pasta or fresh salmon.

2006 Chardonnay – Bonterra Vineyards star
This is a nice buttery Charonnay that is very smooth and has no after taste. The grapes are organically grown and come from California Certified Organic Farmers.

2006 Da Vinci Chianti star
There was a review on the Bella Online Wine site of the Da Vinci Chianti 2003 a couple of years ago. Since reading that review, I have wondered how I would like the 2006 vintage.

2006 J. Lohr Review - Dinner with an Old Friend star
When you are getting together with old friends you need a wine that you can count on. This one fills the bill for me. Maybe you'll like it too!

2006 Malbec Syrah - Tilia star
This 2006 Malbec Syrah would be a good addition to your wine cellar. Try a bottle with a hearty meat dish. Have a few friends over and let them sample a glass of this fine wine. As you are soaking in the compliments you are getting about this selection, casually mention my name and this website.

2006 Sauvignon Blanc – Fetzer star
The back label says crisp and clean and it is. But it is more than that. Let me paint a picture for you of how I felt while sipping this wine with a nice leafy green salad with diced chicken breast.

Discover Sauvignon Blanc Wines star
Many white wine lovers are happy with Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay. Others want to branch out and discover the pleasures of other white wines. Sauvignon Blanc is ready to take you to new taste adventures.

Ekert Estate Winery star
Discover this young winery in Livermore, California. It´s a testament to not judge a wine by the flashiness of the tasting room.

Finger Lakes Rieslings star
New York's Finger Lakes wine region sees Riesling as the white grape with which it will have the greatest success. Peter F May visited the region and tasted them.

Höpler Zweigelt 2004 Wine Review star
When I hear someone mention Austrian wines, red wine is not what comes to my mind. This is a wine introduction that surprised me and one I will put on my list of wines to go back for a second bottle!

Lacryma Christi - A Legendary Wine star
Explore the legend of one of the world´s most famous wines.

Luzon 2006 Wine Review star
Spanish Reds like this don't come along every day. This is one you should try when you see it where you buy fine wines. Expect to pay between $7 and $10 for a bottle. You'll love it.

Scoring Wine star
There are several systems for scoring wine, Peter F May considers them and decides that the scorer matters is the important factor/

Seghesio Zinfandel 2007 star
Shortly after I got back from my New Mexico wine trail trip last October, my favorite wine retailer told me "I have an outstanding Zin that you have to try. Don't ask me what the price is, just buy it."

Serve This Wine with Your Next Ruben star
What's better than coming home from skiing or after a day at the beach on a Saturday afternoon and making up some hot ruben sandwiches? Well I would have to say that you have to have wine with those rubens to make it all complete, naturally.

Special Occasion Wines star
Sometimes you need to find a special bottle of wine as a gift or to open for an occasion. If you try one of these wines you will receive gratitude and platitudes.

Sweet Wine Review star
Looking for something sweeter, try these new wines.

The Wines of Argentina star
There are many wine choices available from Argentina, but many wine drinkers are a bit wary. Take the leap south and try one of these great and affordable wines.

The Wines of the Veneto star
Explore northern Italy and its fantastic wines.

Wine Review - 2008 La Yunta star
I've been looking for a combination wine that I can serve on warm afternoons as an aperitif or as the main wine for dinner with friends or just to have when I enjoy a quiet dinner with my wife. I found it!

Wines to Bring to Dinner star
You´ve been invited to dinner and want to bring a gift bottle of wine. You don´t know what to bring and can´t spend much money. What to do? What to do?

Wonderful Red Wines - A Review star
Fantastic wines don´t have to cost an arm and a leg. These wines are reasonable but bring big flavors.
