Each year the Academy Awards honor Hollywood’s best movies and talent. We take a look at the date on which each ceremony occurred as well as the film, actor and actress who snagged Oscar gold.

May 16, 1929 - Winners at the 1st Academy Awards included “Wings”, Emil Jannings and Janet Gaynor.

April 30, 1930 -Winners at the 2nd Academy Awards included “The Broadway Melody”, Warner Baxter and Mary Pickford.

November 5, 1930 - Winners at the 3rd Academy Awards included “All's Quiet on the Western Front”, George Arliss and Norma Shearer.

November 10, 1931 - Winners at the 4th Academy Awards included “Cimarron”, Lionel Barrymore and Marie Dressler.

February 27, 1935 - Winners at the 7th Academy Awards included “It Happened One Night”, Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert.
