Princess Resurrection

Princess Resurrection
Princess Resurrection is an anime series based on a manga by Yasunori Mitsunaga.

At the beginning of the series, Hiro Hiyorimi has come to look for his sister, who has written to him and told him to come and move in with her. When he arrives to the location she tells him to come to, Hiro finds a mansion that is boarded up and a locked gate.

Hiro walks into town, and while he's there, a woman in gothic-looking clothes is riding on a throne on top of a large stack of crates being pulled by a small-looking girl. When the small-looking girl discovers there's a flat tire, the goth-looking girl comes down. Right above her, a construction beam breaks looks. Hiro rushes in to save her. While the girl is saved, Hiro is crushed by the beam. Hiro is rushed to the hospital, but he dies during surgery.

Meanwhile, the goth-looking girl and her servant arrive at the abandoned mansion, where Hiro's sister, Sawawa, is working at loosening the boards from the mansion. It turns out the goth-looking girl is named Hime, and Sawawa is going to be working for her as a maid. The small-looking girl is another servant, an android named Flandre. As Sawawa and Flandre clean the mansion, Hime disappears.

After being pronounced dead, Hiro has been taken to the morgue. Once the room is empty, Hime appears and brings Hiro back to life; however, Hime disappears before Hiro wakes up. When Hiro comes to and realizes where he's at, he flees.

After Hime returns to the mansion, she is attacked by a werewolf and his companions, who have been sent by Hime's brother to kill her. Hime wields a sword, and Flandre wields a tree to defend against their attackers. Hiro arrives as this is going on, and he jumps in to save Hime again, only to be struck by the werewolf.

After Hime is victorious in the fight, she brings Hiro back to life. She explains who she is, and the fact that Hiro will have to be her servant forever if he wants to continue to live, because the spell she uses to revive him only lasts for a few days. Hiro agrees, and he joins Hime in killing the creatures that Hime's brother sends to attack her.

Princess Resurrection may not have any real blood and gore, but it's rather dark in tone; it's definitely not an anime aimed at younger viewers. Personally, I would recommend Princess Resurrection to anime viewers who are 15 or 16 years of age and older.
